Last week we were once again commissioned by Yaly Couture to take photos for their upcoming collection. They are planning another great fashion show in October 2019, and wanted to have photos of the new collection to show before hand.
The Concept Creation
After a chat with Casper, the lead designer for this collection, we decided that the colours would match the Vietnamese countryside well. The idea in this fashion photo shoot is to create an “African Vietnamese vibe”, bringing some of Casper’s concepts and mixing it with the Asian style.
In terms of photo style, Casper trusted us with our own, and so we decided to do what we do best and play with natural light and candid moments.
The Photo Shoot
It took us an afternoon to complete the photo shoot, along with a video interview with Casper and Ms. Quynh, the owner of Yaly Couture in Hoi An.
We started in green and yellow fields, and we first thought about including some local “wildlife” in the images. The fields were perfect as some goat and cow shepherds were around. Unfortunately, and as fun as it sounds, the animals were moving too fast for us to capture any powerful images. So we did with the fields instead, playing with grass and trees textures.
Our model, Miss XXXX was a wonder to work with, and knew exactly what to do as soon as we pointed the camera up. By the way, we highly recommend any fashion brand in Danang and Hoi An area to hire professional models instead of tourists who are just passing by. The difference in the images is like night and day.
The Final Images
Here is a selection of the final images we picked up for Yaly. The whole team is delighted with the results, and so is the lead designer Casper. We have been working for many years with Yaly, and the trust relationship we have built allows us to express all our creativity!
